Softball to host pair of camps in coming months

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA softball program will host a pair of winter camps in the coming months.

A winter camp, scheduled for Dec. 13, will consist of sessions for offense (9-11 a.m.), defense (11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.) and pitching (2-4 p.m.) at Roadrunner Field.

Campers will learn hitting mechanics and techniques that the Roadrunners use and go through specific hitting and slapping drills. The defensive session will include instruction at different positions on the field, while the pitching session will cover the mechanics of pitching, drills and the change up.

The offensive and defensive sessions are open to 2015-19 high school graduates and the pitching session is open to all ages. Cost for the camp is $100 per session along with a $5 parking fee. Discounts are available for those who wish to attend multiple sessions.

UTSA also will host an Advanced Level All-Skills Exposure camp from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2015. The camp is open to 2015-19 high school graduates and will consist of infield, outfield and hitting instruction and contain drill and competition stations. The cost is $150 along with a $5 parking fee.
