Medrano paces Roadrunners at Crimson Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Mike Medrano finished as UTSA's top performer for the fourth consecutive meet at Friday's Crimson Classic.

The senior from Mission placed 27th after circling the 8,000-meter Harry Pritchett Running Course in 25:43.38.

Other scorers for the Roadrunners included Harvinder Singh (76th/26:34.36), Javier Salas (79th/26:39.51), Alex Cruz (161st/28:00.45) and Tony Jaramillo (164th/28:02.09).

Clemson captured the team title with 128 points, while Auburn (137) and Georgia Tech (140) made up the remainder of the top three. UTSA finished 16th among the 24 participating Division I programs with 407 points.

Auburn's Ty McCormack won the individual championship in 24:27.86.

The Roadrunners will return to action in two weeks at the Conference USA Championships in Denton. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1.
