IRVING — Brett Hogan was named Conference USA Player of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Hogan, who hails from Calgary, Alberta, tied for third place to lead UTSA to a runner-up finish at this week's Miramont Invitational. The junior carded a 72 in the opening round and posted a 4-under-par 68 in the final round of the weather-shortened tournament.
Hogan drained birdie putts on four of his first six holes and six total during the final round en route to his second top-10 finish of the fall and the second-best finish of his UTSA career behind a tie for second at the 2013 Rice Intercollegiate. Hogan helped the Roadrunners card a 5-over 581 (297-284) to claim their third top-five team finish this calendar year.
Hogan and the Roadrunners will conclude their fall campaign from Oct. 24-26 when they compete in the Price’s “Give ‘Em Five” Invitational in El Paso.
