SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women’s golf team will resume its fall campaign at the Betsy Rawls Invitational, which will be contested on Sunday-Tuesday, Oct. 12-14, at the University of Texas Golf Club (par 72/6,225 yards).
The Roadrunners will compete against Baylor, Indiana, No. 36 Iowa State, Miami, No. 48 Minnesota, New Mexico, No. 17 San Diego State, No. 43 SMU, No. 44 Texas, Tulane, Tulsa, UC Irvine, UNC Wilmington and No. 16 UNLV. The field will play 18 holes each day with tee times starting at 8:15 a.m.
At last year’s Betsy Rawls Invitational, UTSA tied for 11th behind a 39th-place effort from Fabiola Arriaga, who carded a 70-76-76—222. Brogan Townend, the only Roadrunner in this year’s lineup who played in the 2013 event, tied for 45th (72-75-76—223).
The Roadrunners are coming off a 10th-place finish at the Golfweek Conference Challenge on Sept. 22-24 in Wolcott, Colo. Townend led the way with a 228 (77-78-73) that included a hole-in-one in finishing in a tie for 31st.
