SAN ANTONIO — UTSA's men's cross country team will return to action on Saturday morning when it travels north to Denton for the Ken Garland Invitational.
The 5,000-meter race is scheduled to start at 11:20 a.m. at Eagle Point Cross Country Course, which also will be the site of this fall's Conference USA Championships. Rice, SMU and TCU will join the host Mean Green and Roadrunners for the meet.
Mike Medrano finished in fourth place to lead the Birds at last Friday's UTSA Ricardo Romo Classic. The senior from Mission covered the 5,000-meter course in 15:57.7 to finish as the squad's top performer for the second consecutive meet to open the campaign. The Roadrunners finished second to defending champion Texas in the Division I team standings at their annual home meet.
