UTSA Thank-a-Thon a huge success

SAN ANTONIO — Seventy-one UTSA student-athletes spent three evenings last week calling nearly 1,700 Roadrunner Athletic Fund (RAF) donors and writing thank you letters to more than 250 others.

“Over a three-night span, student-athletes from all of our sports spent time thanking Roadrunner Athletic Fund donors for their support,” RAF Development Assistant Victor Yates said. “We already have received positive feedback from donors via social media and text messages talking about how cool it was to receive a call from a student-athlete. On the other end of the phone, it was special to hear from the student-athletes about how much they appreciate the donors’ support and how much it personally meant to them.”

All 17 sports were represented by student-athletes who took time out of their busy schedules to personally thank donors for their support of UTSA Athletics during the past year.

“I enjoyed the Thank-a-Thon tremendously because it allowed me to personally thank the kind-heart Roadrunner fans who have had a pivotal role in allowing for my dreams of being a Division I student-athlete to come true,” senior Nate Leonard, a center on the football team, said.
