GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Lindsey Pew matched her program record in the pole vault on Friday to lead the UTSA women's track & field team at this weekend's Pepsi Florida Relays.
The junior college transfer from Mesa, Ariz., cleared 12-9 ½ (3.90m) for the second consecutive week en route to a ninth-place finish.
The Roadrunners also received career-best performances from Nina Herrera (Conference USA-leading 4:25.15/No. 2 performance in program history) and Emily Perez (4:28.02) in the 1,500 meters, as well as Katelynn Homb in the discus (140-1/42.69m) at the two-day event that was tabbed the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's National Meet of the Week.
Meanwhile, the distance medley relay of Perez, Shantel Swift, Sarah Wedgeworth and Herrera passed the baton in 11:31.79, which was good for second place in the field of 13.
UTSA will return to action next Saturday, April 12, at the Texas Invitational in Austin.
