SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will host former Southland Conference foe Lamar for a pair of midweek games beginning on Tuesday night. First pitch in the series opener is slated for 6 p.m. and Wednesday's finale is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Roadrunners (27-17) come into the contest having lost five of their past half dozen outings following a series loss over the weekend to Charlotte. UTSA won the middle game of the three-game set but was upended both Friday and Sunday in its first C-USA home series loss of the spring.
Meanwhile, Lamar (26-17) comes in having won four of its past five with a series victory against Stephen F. Austin. The Cardinals have five hitters hitting north of .300 and a pitching staff that sports a 3.52 team ERA.
Lamar, which has won the past two meetings, owns a 27-26 edge in the all-time series, including a 4-0 victory last season in Beaumont.
