SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will look to end a two-game losing streak this weekend when it hosts Louisiana Tech at Roadrunner Field. The three-game set is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, followed by single contests at 2 and 1 p.m., respectively, the following two days.
The Roadrunners (16-9, 3-3 C-USA) have won five of their six all-time meetings with Louisiana Tech (9-14, 3-6 C-USA), including a three-game sweep to end the 2013 regular season. The sweep propelled UTSA to a seven-game winning streak that culminated with the Western Athletic Conference Tournament Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament Corvallis Regional. The Roadrunners outscored the Bulldogs, 20-4, in the series.
UTSA first baseman Mike Warren enters the weekend having reached base in a career-high 19 consecutive games and his streak ties the Roadrunners’ season-high mark set by John Welborn, who also had a 19-game streak to begin the campaign. The San Antonio native has a team-best .427 on-base percentage that includes six walks and seven hit by pitches during the stretch.
