No. 63 Wichita State downs UTSA on Friday, 6-1

SAN ANTONIO — Yannick Junger won on the top singles court, but it was not enough in a 6-1 setback to No. 63 Wichita State on Friday afternoon at the UTSA Tennis Center.

Junger posted a 6-4, 7-6 (6-4) victory against Ilija Cuic for the Germany native's seventh win of the season. Junger also teamed with Boburjopn Kamiljanov for an 8-4 triumph at against Cujic and Jocelyn Devilliers at the No. 2 doubles position.

However, the Shockers (11-7) won at the other five singles spots and grabbed the doubles point in sending the Roadrunners (6-11) to their second consecutive loss.

UTSA will conclude its 2014 home slate on Saturday with matches against Texas-Pan American (3-11) at 10 a.m. and NCAA Division II No. 29 St. Mary's (6-5) four hours later.
