UTSA to face No. 18 Sam Houston State on Tuesday night

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will take a five-game break from Conference USA play this week beginning on Tuesday with a 6:30 p.m. contest at No. 18 Sam Houston State.

The Roadrunners (11-5) enter the week after securing their first C-USA series victory against Florida Atlantic. UTSA outscored the Owls, who were picked second in the league's preseason poll, 12-7, in the three-game set. Mike Warren led UTSA to wins in four of its five outings last week with a .421 batting average and five RBIs.

Sam Houston State (13-3) swept Cal State Northridge this past weekend, including Sunday's 3-2 win in 13 innings.

The Bearkats won last season’s meeting, 2-1, on April 30 in San Antonio and they hold a slim 38-35 edge in the all-time series.
