SAN ANTONIO — Fresh off last weekend's season-opening sweep of Lamar, UTSA will look to stay perfect when it hits the road for the first time this season with a 7 p.m. contest on Wednesday at No. 15 Texas.
Under the direction of first-year head coach Michelle Cheatham, the Roadrunners are off to a 3-0 start for the fifth time in school history and first time since 2006. UTSA hit three grand slams in its sweep of the Lady Cardinals and tied an NCAA record with two in one inning in Saturday's second game of a doubleheader. Junior Megan Low hit one of those grand slams and added a three-run homer in a 16-run second inning to tie the school's single-game record with seven RBIs and was named Conference USA Co-Player of the Week on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Longhorns (4-2) opened the season with four consecutive wins before dropping contests to Northern Iowa and Purdue at the Louisiana Classic. Texas' wins came against LSU, North Carolina and Louisiana-Lafayette and the squad will be playing its first home game of the spring on Wednesday.
Wednesday's contest will be televised on Longhorn Network with Carter Blackburn (play-by-play) and Cat Osterman (analysis) calling the action.
