SAN ANTONIO — As part of UTSA's student-athlete career development preparation, more than 150 juniors and seniors participated in a networking event sponsored by Northwestern Mutual in November.
The event was coordinated by the UTSA University Career Center in collaboration with the Athletics Department and included a brief presentation by Student-Athlete Career Counselor Stefanie Cisneros, who offered tips on the art of networking.
Student-athletes had the opportunity to learn not only about how to develop an 'elevator speech', but also regarding benefit of maintaining professional contacts through LinkedIn. Following the presentation, the student-athletes were able to apply these skills by networking with employers representing the following companies: Northwestern Mutual, Rackspace, TEKSystems, Enterprise Holdings, AeroTek, San Antonio Scorpions, Cintas, USAA, Medtronic, Omni Hotels and Resorts, PLS Logistics and Amazon.
