SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will begin a three-match home stand on Friday night when it hosts UAB (18-11, 5-5 C-USA) in a pivotal late-season matchup. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
The Roadrunners (18-7, 10-1 C-USA) trail league-leading Tulsa (21-4, 10-0 C-USA) by one match entering the weekend. The two front-runners will close out the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 17, in the Alamo City.
McKenzie Adams became the first player in program history to be named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week following her efforts in dispatching Charlotte and Marshall last weekend.
UTSA needs just two more victories for its fourth consecutive 20-win campaign, which would be the school's longest such streak since the four straight posted from 1987-90.
