IRVING — For the second consecutive week, McKenzie Adams and Jessica Waldrip were named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Monday.
The award is Adams' fourth offensive honor of the season and fifth overall. The senior outside hitter averaged 6.86 kills, 4.71 digs, and 7.43 points per set and hit .396 in the Roadrunners' victories at Charlotte and Marshall. She had a career-high 31 winners en route to hitting .426 on her 61 attacks and added 21 digs in Sunday's four-set win against the Thundering Herd.
Meanwhile, Waldrip continued her steady play by averaging 13 assists per stanza to go along with a .453 set percentage last weekend. The freshman from New Braunfels collected her first-career double-double with 36 assists and 10 digs on Friday night against the 49ers and followed that up with a career-best 55 assists at Marshall two days later.
UTSA will begin a three-match home stand on Friday night against UAB (18-10, 5-5 C-USA).
