MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Conference USA's two hottest teams will square off in Sunday's tournament championship match at 1 p.m. Top-seeded UTSA (23-7) will bring a 10-match winning streak into the final, while Tulane (28-3) sports victories in 15 of its past 16 outings.
Through their first two tournament matches, the Roadrunners have amassed the two highest attack percentages in tournament history. In Friday's sweep of Southern Miss, UTSA registered an attack percentage of .506. They followed that up with a .478 in a sweep of Marshall on Saturday. The old record was set in UAB's victory against Charlotte on Nov. 16, 1995.
UTSA evened the all-time series with the Green Wave, 2-2, following a four-set victory on Sept. 27 in New Orleans. In their first ever contest as a member of Conference USA, UTSA put a halt to Tulane’s best start in program history with the come-from-behind triumph (22-25, 25-16, 25-11, 27-25). Preseason C-USA Player of the Year McKenzie Adams had a match-high 27 kills and added 12 digs, while Dajana Boskovic joined her in double figures with 10 winners.
