UTSA to hold food drive sponsored by Whataburger prior to Tulane game

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will hold a food drive sponsored by Whataburger prior to the Tulane game on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Alamodome. The food drive is being held in recognition of the “Food 4 SA” campaign, whose goal is to collect one million pounds of food during the month of November.

Fans are encouraged to bring cans or non-perishable food items to donation bins that will be located in Rowdy Town in the North Plaza prior to the 1 p.m. game between the Roadrunners and the Green Wave. Monetary donations also are encouraged and accepted. All items will be given to the San Antonio Food Bank.

Anyone who donates a minimum of two cans or non-perishable items will receive one coupon for a free Whataburger (while supplies last). This marks the third year Whataburger has partnered with UTSA to host a food drive.

According to the San Antonio Food Bank, an estimated 49 million Americans are food insecure and Texas is the most food insecure state in the nation. UTSA and Whataburger are proud to serve this cause and encourage fans to donate to help those in need.
