SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will return to the course when it travels to Austin to compete in the Betsy Rawls Longhorns Invitational. The three-day tournament is slated to tee off on Sunday at The University of Texas Golf Club (par 72/6,143 yards).
The Roadrunners will compete against 17 teams, including four squads ranked in the Oct. 6 edition of the Golfweek/Sagarin Top 20: No. 1 UCLA, No. 8 Arizona State, No. 15 Iowa State, No. 18 Tulane, Denver, Furman, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi State, New Mexico, Princeton, San Diego State, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Tulsa and UNLV. The field will play 18 holes each day.
UTSA is coming off a 14th-place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate on Sept. 20-22. Fabiola Arriaga (76-73—149) and Taylor Newlin (74-75—149) tied for 39th to lead the Birds.
