Roadrunners men to compete at Notre Dame Invitational on Friday

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will return to action on Friday afternoon when it competes at the 58th annual Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.

There will be more than 1,200 competitors at the presigious event, which features a total of four collegiate races. The Roadrunners will participate in the gold 5-mile run, which is scheduled to be run at 1:45 p.m. (CT). UTSA will be going up against runners from Bradley, Central Michigan, Clemson, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, IPFW, IUPUI, Oakland, Ohio, Pittsburgh, UIC, UMKC, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and Youngstown State.

Mike Medrano's 10th-place performance helped lead the Roadrunners to a runner-up finish at last Friday's Texas Invitational in Round Rock. The junior from Mission covered the Old Settlers Park 8,000-meter loop in 25:31.26 and he crossed the finish line as the squad's top performer for the second consecutive week.
