SAN ANTONIO — The Roadrunners volleyball team will open its 2013 home slate this weekend when it hosts the UTSA Classic. The two-day tournament will get underway on Thursday at the Convocation Center.
The Roadrunners (1-2) will open tournament play against Lamar (1-4) at 11 a.m. on Thursday before facing No. 8 Florida (3-0) at 4:30 p.m., in what will be the Gators' only match of the event. UTSA returns to action on Friday to face Loyola Marymount (2-1) at noon on Friday before concluding the classic against Texas A&M (2-1) at 7 p.m.
Other Thursday matches will see Texas A&M face Loyola Marymount at 1:30 p.m. and Lamar at 7 p.m. Lamar and LMU will battle at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Roadrunners are coming off a 1-2 showing at last weekend's Tigers Classic in Baton Rouge, La. UTSA dropped four-set decisions to tournament host LSU and San Diego State before upending UC Davis in four stanzas in the finale.
Senior outside hitter McKenzie Adams averaged 6.25 kills, 4.00 digs and 6.46 points per set in the three matches and was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
