Roadrunners to close out non-conference slate at Baylor on Tuesday night

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will conclude its non-conference schedule with a Tuesday match at Baylor. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Ferrell Center.

The Roadrunners (8-5) head north having won five of their last six outings and sporting some nationally significant statistics. As of Monday, McKenzie Adams leads the nation with 5.5 kills per set and she ranks third with 5.9 points per stanza. Meanwhile, Annie Kunes ranks 14th with 5.33 digs per frame and the Birds rank fourth as a team with 18 per set. One other Roadrunner, Tessa Dahnert, ranks among the top 50 in blocks per set (1.26/47th).

Baylor (7-8) enters Tuesday’s contest coming off a second place finish at the Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup in Houston. The Bears opened the tournament with a five-set loss to LSU before rebounding to sweep North Texas and a five-frame win against tournament host Houston.

The Bears own a commanding 16-4 lead in the all-time series and they swept the last meeting on Sept. 1, 2010.
