SEGUIN — Nina Herrera raced to the individual title and she helped lead UTSA to its third consecutive Texas Lutheran Invitational crown on Saturday.

Herrera circled the 5,000-meter TLU campus loop in 18:56.63 for the first championship of her four-year career.

Meanwhile, Samantha Fish crossed the tape second in 19:08.36 and Emily Perez (19:24.08/fourth), Sarah Wedgeworth (19:33.26/sixth) and Isabel Balbontin (19:38.48/eighth) rounded out the team's scorers.

The Roadrunners accounted for 21 points to easily outdistance Incarnate Word (40) for team title, while Texas-Pan American was a distant third with 85.

UTSA will return to action on Friday, Sept. 20, when it hosts the Ricardo Romo UTSA Classic.
