ARLINGTON — The freshman duo of Ryan Roberts and Levi Jordan combined for nine points in the decathlon and the UTSA men's track & field team sits in second place after two days of the Western Athletic Conference Championships, which are being contested at Mavericks Stadium on the campus of UT Arlington.
Roberts, who entered the second day of the 10-event multis competition in second place, finished with 6,706 points. Meanwhile, Jordan moved up two spots into fifth with his two-day point total of 6,448. Both were competing in the decathlon for the first time at the collegiate level.
Jordan's score was helped by the top discus measurement of the afternoon (145-3/44.28m).
Competition was delayed by nearly four hours following severe thunderstorms in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
The four-day meet continues on Friday.
