SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will close out its regular season this weekend with a pair of Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matches. The Roadrunners will take on No. 72 Idaho at 7 p.m. (CT) on Friday and Seattle at 4:30 p.m. (CT) two days later.
UTSA (11-10, 2-1 WAC) lost its last outing against Denver, 4-3, last Sunday despite taking an early 2-0 lead.
The Roadrunners have won nine of their 13 singles matches in league play this spring. David Kelleher and Joel Rubio each boast perfect 3-0 marks in WAC singles action, while Kelleher is a team-best 13-7 overall this spring.
Meanwhile, the pairing of Martin Ayala and Diogo Casa have netted a 15-3 record at the top doubles position.
The Vandals (20-5, 4-0 WAC) are tied atop the league standings and have split their last six outings.
Dmitry Perevoshchikov leads Idaho with a 19-4 mark in singles action, while Jose Bendeck and Cristobal Ramos Salazar have combined to register an 18-3 record in doubles play.
The Redhawks (1-21, 0-5 WAC) have lost their last nine matches and their lone win on the season with as 7-0 victory against Southern Utah on March 24.
Zach Kosanke leads Seattle with seven wins in singles play.
