SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will open a three-match home stand on Friday when it hosts future Conference USA foe Southern Mississippi. First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners (7-6) are coming off Tuesday's 4-3 victory at William & Mary. Diogo Casa provided the clincher for the Birds following his three-set victory at No. 2 singles.
Casa leads UTSA with an 8-4 mark in singles play, while he and Martin Ayala have teamed up to post a 9-2 mark in doubles action.
The Golden Eagles (10-5) have dropped their last two contests. Southern Miss was edged by No. 51 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 4-3, on Wednesday and UAB by the same score last Friday.
Andrew Goodwin leads the squad in singles play with an 11-4 record, while he and Matt Frost are 8-4 as the top doubles pairing.
