LAFAYETTE, La. — Garrison Lackey carded rounds of 75 and 77 to lead UTSA on Monday at the 28th Louisiana Classics, which was played in windy conditions at Oakbourne Country Club (par 72/6,898 yards).
Lackey is tied for 41st place at eight-over 152 with 18 holes to play. LSU's Zach Wright has a three-shot lead on the 83-man field after carding a 138 (66-72).
Meanwhile, the Roadrunners turned in a 616 (306-310) and they stand in 14th place. No. 20 Illinois sits atop the leaderboard at three-over 579, followed by Kansas (586), 23rd-ranked Kent State (587), Southeastern Louisiana (589) and No. 38 Tulsa (590).
J.J. Lindsey is two shots and 12 places behind Lackey in a tie for 53rd after recording a 76-78—154, while Brett Hogan (79-76—155) and Ryan Werre (76-79—155) are tied for 58th. Stanton Tondre is in 76th (79-80—159).
The final round is scheduled to tee off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
