ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Martin Ayala was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Ayala collected three victories last week, including two in doubles action.
The Quito, Ecuador, native picked up a win at the top singles spot in the Roadrunners' 5-2 victory at Lipscomb on Saturday to improve to 5-3 this season.
Additionally, he and teammate Diogo Casa won both of their tilts at No. 1 doubles over the weekend for their eighth consecutive triumph to open the spring.
