UTSA to travel to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will continue non-conference play on Friday when it travels to the Coastal Bend to face former Southland Conference foe Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.

The Roadrunners (4-2) took down another former Southland opponent, Northwestern State, last Sunday. Isabelle Jonsson provided the clinching point at No. 2 singles after holding off her opponent in three sets.

Meanwhile, the Islanders (6-0) swept Texas-Pan American in their last outing. Sanda Burges, Maider Martin and Stefania Nicolae all have started a perfect 6-0 in singles competition, while Nicolae and Doris Kuselj have won all five of their matches at No. 1 doubles.

UTSA has lost its last three meetings to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, including a 5-2 setback in Corpus Christi on March 14, 2012.
