SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will look to add to its three-game winning streak this weekend when it hosts Nevada and former Southland Conference foe Lamar at the UTSA Tennis Center. The Roadrunners will face the Wolf Pack at 2:30 p.m. on Friday and the Cardinals at 2 p.m. two days later.
UTSA (3-1) swept a doubleheader against St. Edward's and Incarnate Word last Sunday. The Roadrunners racked up a total of 10 singles victories in the two contests.
Martin Ayala, Tyler Brown and David Kelleher all own identical 3-1 records to lead the Birds in singles play, while the duo of Ayala and Diogo Casa are a perfect 4-0 at the top doubles position.
Nevada (3-3) has dropped back-to-back matches, including a 5-2 setback at Oregon on Feb. 3.
Meanwhile, Lamar (1-5) has lost five consecutive contests, including three of the last four by sweeps, since winning its season opener against Alcorn State. The Cardinals dropped a 6-1 decision against Wichita State last Sunday in Lubbock.
