LOGAN, Utah — Utah State carried a 1-0 lead into the intermission and later added apair of goals in the second half en route to a 3-0 victory against UTSA on Friday atChuck & Gloria Bell Soccer Field.
Mari Miyashiro put the Aggies (6-2-6, 1-0-2 WAC) on theboard in the 33rd minute off passes from Kylie Dibb and BrookeLarsen. Utah State took that advantage into halftime despite being outshot, 6-4,by the Roadrunners (1-8-2, 0-1-2) in the opening stanza.
The score stood there until the 78th minute when Jennifer Flynn made it 2-0. NatalieNorris goal in the final minute provided the final margin.
The Aggies outshot UTSA, 14-9, in thesecond half.
Sophomore Liv Nyhegn and freshman Kauwela Neal led theRoadrunners with three shots apiece, while goalie Katarina Pus recorded fivesaves.
UTSA will look to get back on the winning track at 2 p.m.(CT) on Sunday when it faces San Jose State (3-8-1, 1-2) at Spartans Stadium.
