Adams tabbed Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Junior McKenzie Adams was named the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. It marks the third time this season that Adams has earned the league's weekly award.

Adams, who also was named WAC Player of the Week on Sept. 10 and Sept. 24, guided the Roadrunners to a perfect week after they posted a four-set victory against Idaho last Thursday before sweeping Seattle two days later.

The Schertz native averaged 6.14 kills and 4.71 digs per set while hitting at a .367 clip in the two victories and she racked up her 14th and 15th double-doubles of the season in the process.

Adams logged 25 kills, 19 digs, two assists, a pair of blocks and a service ace against the Vandals and then wrapped up the week with 18 winners and only one attack error in 33 swings for a .515 hitting percentage against the Redhawks. Adams also added three assists, two blocks and a pair of service aces in the Saturday sweep.

The 6-foot-3 outside hitter ranks second in the conference with 4.73 points and 4.19 kills per frame and also stands sixth with 3.74 digs per panel.

The Roadrunners (15-8, 8-5 WAC) return to action at 7 p.m. on Thursday at UT Arlington (8-17, 4-9 WAC).
