SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will continue its fall campaign this weekend when it opens play at the ITA Regional Championships in Fort Worth. The four-day tournament begins on Saturday morning at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners will send seniors Martin Ayala and Tyler Brown, sophomore Joel Rubio and freshman Diogo Alves Casa to the event.
In their last outing, Ayala and Casa advanced to the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. The duo knocked off the nation's 28th-ranked doubles team and two other pairings in qualifying. However, their run ended with a 9-8 (7-3) setback to Tennessee's No. 17 doubles duo of Jarryd Chaplin and Mikelis Liebietis.
