ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Junior outside hitter McKenzie Adams was named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Adams averaged a league-best five kills to go along with 4.5 digs per set and helped the Roadrunners stretch their winning streak to three last week with home sweeps against Houston Baptist and Texas State.
The Schertz native opened the week with her eighth double-double of the season with 17 kills and 16 digs against the Huskies. Four days later, she led the Birds to their first home victory against their I-35 rival in nearly four years with 13 winners and nine digs.
Adams, who also picked up the conference's weekly award two weeks ago, ranks third in the league in points (4.54) and kills (4.02) per set and seventh in digs (3.80) per frame.
The Roadrunners (9-4, 2-1 WAC) will return to action at 9 p.m. (CT) on Thursday at Seattle (6-8, 1-3 WAC).
