The Birds raced out to a 6-1 advantage in the second set behind a trio of winners from Adams. However, the Huskies rallied to pull to within one (17-16) before a 4-2 spurt gave UTSA some distance. The two teams split the final eight points and Adams slammed home the final kill to send the Roadrunners into the locker room with a 2-0 advantage.
UTSA opened another large advantage in the final stanza by posting a 5-1 lead. Houston Baptist again rallied to pull to within one (7-6), but the Roadrunners scored 11 of the next 12 points to pull away for their first sweep since Aug. 30 against Belmont.
