ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Junior Alyssa Diaz once again was named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The reigning WAC Athlete of the Week raced to her second victory in as many weeks at Friday’s UTSA Ricardo Romo Classic. Diaz covered the soggy 5,000-meter loop in 18:04 to easily defeat Texas-Pan American's Judith Chumba by more than 18 seconds and the Roadrunners successfully defended their team title by 48 points.
UTSA will return to action next Saturday, Sept. 29, at the Grass Routes Grand Prix in Austin.
