ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Junior Alyssa Diaz was named Western Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Diaz led a Roadrunners contingent that finished in the top seven places on the individual leaderboard with the first victory of her career. The Hereford native circled the 5,000-meter loop in 18:41.24, as UTSA successfully defended its meet title wit a perfect team score of 15.
The Roadrunners will be back in action on Friday when they host the UTSA Ricardo Romo Classic presented by H-E-B and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The 5k race is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
