SEGUIN — UTSA claimed six of the top seven spots on the individual leaderboard and the Roadrunners cruised to their second consecutive TLU Invitational team title on Saturday.

Leading the way was sophomore Mike Medrano, who won the first individual crown of his career in 16:22.30. Redshirt freshman Ryan Elizalde (16:22.48) and true frosh David Guillen (16:23.82) finished right behind their teammate in second and third, respectively, while senior Daniel Balbontin (fifth/16:33.26) and junior Kyle Hawley (sixth/16:42.88) rounded out the squad's scorers.

UTSA netted 17 points en route to the championship and finished ahead of Prairie View A&M (71), Texas A&M-Kingsville (74), Texas A&M International (81), Concordia Texas (136) and Schreiner (167).

The Roadrunners will be back in action next Friday, Sept. 14, when they host the UTSA Ricardo Romo Classic presented by H-E-B and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The 5k race is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
