SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will host the fifth annual Roadrunners Ruckus at 8 p.m. on Friday at the Convocation Center.
The event marks the official start of basketball practice and admission is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 7:45 p.m. and the first 1,000 UTSA students with a valid ID will receive a free T-shirt.
Festivities begin outside at 7 p.m. with free food, games, giveaways and more in front of the Convo.
The program tips off an hour later inside the Bird Cage where fans will get their first look at the 2011-12 men’s and women’s basketball teams. There will be a highlight video, a 3-point shooting contest, a 3-on-3 scrimmage and several promotional contests, as well as special performances by the UTSA band, cheer and pom squads and UTSA's mascot, Rowdy the Roadrunner.
Ruckus sponsors include Chick-fil-A, GAMES2U, The Outpost, The Villas at Babcock and Whataburger.
