SAN ANTONIO — Sophomore Isabelle Jonsson picked up a 6-1, 6-3 victory against Texas State's Rachel Baldree on Sunday to pace the UTSA women's tennis squad on the final day of the Roadrunners Fall Tournament.
Jonsson's triumph in the consolation finals of the second flight was one of three posted by the Roadrunners on Sunday, as the Birds also received victories from senior Micaela Silva and freshman Irene Gandara Gonzalez.
Silva defeated Texas-Pan American's Dana Nazarova in straight sets (6-4, 6-1) in the top flight, while Gandara Gonzalez was a 6-4, 6-0 winner against UTEP's Tatyana Kovalskaya in the fourth flight.
UTSA will return to action from Oct. 21-25 at the USTA/ITA Texas Regional in Fort Worth.
