SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA women's tennis team will open its 2011-12 season on Friday by hosting the three-day Roadrunners Fall Tournament at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The event will feature five flights of singles action and three flights of doubles competition beginning at 9 a.m. each day. Gonzaga, Texas-Pan American, Texas State and UTEP will join UTSA in the tournament field.
The Roadrunners return seven letterwinners from a year ago and five of their six starting singles players.
Senior Micaela Silva and junior Kavya Menon both earned seven wins in singles play last spring to lead the returnees.
Head coach Erin Scott returns for her sixth year at the helm of the program.
