SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will close its non-conference schedule on Friday when it hosts Weber State at 7 p.m.
The Roadrunners (2-5-1) have scored 17 goals in their last three matches and have not lost during that span (2-0-1).
Last weekend, freshman Liv Nyhegn recorded a team-high five points with a pair of goals against Prairie View A&M and an assist in a draw with UTEP. The Denmark native leads the squad and is tied for seventh in the Southland Conference with four goals this season. Meanwhile, senior Taylor Padia, junior Lindsay South and sophomores Anka Grotle and Valentina Lefort netted their first goals of the season, while senior Jodi Leroy tied a career high with her third goal of the campaign.
The Wildcats (2-6) are coming off a 3-0 win against New Mexico State last Sunday. Felicia Sortor leads the squad with a pair of goals, which both came against the Aggies. Ryann Waldman recorded the shutout between the pipes and she has allowed an average of 1.09 goals per match. The Big Sky coaches picked Weber State, which returns 17 letterwinners and 10 starters this fall, to finish fifth in the league.
Friday will be the first meeting between the schools.
