VAIL, Colo. — Sophomore Fabiola Arriaga carded a 74 for the second consecutive day and she climbed to a tie for sixth place on Tuesday at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.
Along with battling the course itself, UTSA faced stiff winds of more than 20 miles per hour and it is tied for 10th with a 618 (304-314) after two rounds of play.
Arriaga shot even par for most of the day, but she notched a pair of birdies on Nos. 14 and 18. It was the second day in a row that the Torreon, Mexico, native went one-under on the par-5, 513-yard 18th hole.
Junior Paola Valerio matched her opening round score of 78 and sits in a 39th-place tie with a 156 (78-78). Valerio fired three birdies on the day (Nos. 2/11/18), which was more than any other Roadrunner.
Senior Summer Batiste also owns a 156 (75-81) through 36 holes and fellow senior Bruna Spengler is tied for 76th with a 165 (77-88). Meanwhile, sophomore Taylor Newlin sits in 83rd with a 169 (88-81).
Oregon is atop the team leaderboard with a 601 (297-304) and the Ducks will take a five-shot lead into the final day. Mississippi's Natalie Gleadall and Pepperdine's Grace Na pace the field at 143.
The third and final round will be played on Wednesday.
