SAN ANTONIO — UTSA will wrap up its non-conference schedule this weekend when it travels to Austin for the two-day Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational. The Roadrunners (5-6) will play a total of three matches on Friday and Saturday at Gregory Gymnasium.
UTSA will open tournament play with a 3:30 p.m. matchup with SMU (4-5) on Friday. The Birds then will conclude play the next day with tilts against Santa Clara (3-5) and eighth-ranked Texas (3-3) at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. The nightcap against the Longhorns will televised on the Longhorn Network.
The Roadrunners will be in search of their first wins against both Santa Clara (0-2) and Texas (0-4). Meanwhile, UTSA and SMU will be meeting for the ninth time and the Mustangs hold a 6-2 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to the 1997 campaign.
