BRYAN — UTSA carded a 330 in Tuesday's final round of The “Mo”Morial and the Roadrunners finished the three-day tournament in 11th place (312-305-330=947).
Senior Summer Batiste recorded the team's lowest round of the day, an 80, to tie for 49th (239=80-79-80). The Spring native recorded birdies on Nos. 12 and 18 while shooting four-over on both the front and back nine.
Junior Pala Valerio posted UTSA’s best 54-hole score for the event with a 234 (79-71-84) and that was good for 30th place. Valerio earned a pair of birdies on Nos. 1 and 10.
Sophomore Fabiola Arriaga finished with a three-round total of 237 (75-77-85), putting her in 41st place. Meanwhile fellow sophomore Taylor Newlin tied for 46th with a 238 (78-78-82) and senior Shannon Jungman tied for 64th with a 248 (82-82-84).
Texas won the team championship with an 885 (299-290-296) and Auburn’s Carlie Yadloczky fired a final-round 70 to take the individual crown with a tournament-record 213 (70-73-70).
UTSA returns to action next week at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. The three-day tournament gets underway on Monday, Sept. 19, in Vail, Colo.
