UTSA Athletics unveils Rowdy Sports Zone Challenge

SAN ANTONIO — UTSA Athletics and Pepsi, Inc., have teamed up to offer an athletics attendance contest, Rowdy Sports Zone Challenge.

Beginning today and running through Sept. 23, UTSA registered student organizations and official UTSA Greek organizations may register their clubs to compete for a $1,000 grand prize and $500 runner-up award each semester.

Organizations will compete within size divisions of (a) 25 or fewer members or (b) 26 or more members. A grand prize and runner-up winner will be determined in each size division.

Organizations will earn points by their members attending the following UTSA Athletics home games for credit in the 2011-12 academic year — football, soccer, volleyball, men's and women’s basketball, baseball and softball. An organization will receive one point for each member attending each home game. Organization ratings will be determined on a percentage of participation basis to allow eligible organizations of similar sizes to compete for the cash prizes.

For eligibility and further details, see the official rules listed in the "related links" box.
