SAN ANTONIO- UTSA head women's basketball coach Rae Rippetoe-Blair will travel to the NCAA national headquarters this weekend to participate in the Division I Women's Basketball Championship mock selection exercise. The two-day process begins on Saturday.
The veteran head coach is among a select group of attendees who will fulfill responsibilities typically handled by members of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee in regard to selection, seeding and bracketing of the championship. The exercise will provide a great opportunity for attendees to engage in the mock process that will be educational, enlightening and helpful in creating a greater understanding of each phase of the selection process.
Participants will arrive prepared to discuss teams, key personnel, non-conference/conference game results and will follow the "Principles and Procedures for Establishing the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship Bracket" and will be guided throughout the process by NCAA staff and members of the women's basketball committee.
