SAN MARCOS — After dropping a 7-1 decision to Stephen F. Austin on Thursday, No. 6 seed UTSA will face a quick turnaround to play sixth-seeded Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a 9 a.m. elimination game on Friday at Bobcats Ballpark.
The Roadrunners (27-31) will be meeting the Islanders (35-23) for the second time in three days. UTSA recorded its 13th come-from-behind victory of the season in Wednesday's tournament opener when it knocked off A&M-Corpus Christi, 3-2, in 10 innings.
Freshman right-hander Blake Denman (3-2, 3.76 ERA) will start on the mound for UTSA.
Meanwhile, the Islanders, who stayed alive with a 4-1 win against No. 7 Lamar on Thursday morning, will counter with righty Justin Meza (4-3, 5.35 ERA).
UTSA leads the all-time series, 24-18, and it has won six of the last seven meetings, including all four this spring.
The winner of Friday's tilt will face SFA (35-22) later Friday at 4 p.m.
