SAN ANTONIO — After completing its 13th come-from-behind win of the season by knocking off No. 3 seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 10 innings on Wednesday, sixth-seeded UTSA will take on No. 2 Stephen F. Austin in a winners bracket contest at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
The Roadrunners (27-30) received a sacrifice fly from sophomore Daniel Rockett, which plated the decisive run in the 10th against the Islanders. UTSA fell behind 2-0 in the third but tied the contest a panel later after recording four consecutive hits to lead off the frame.
Stephen F. Austin (35-21) advanced after Jarid Scarafiotti hit a run-scoring double down the left-field line in the eighth to beat seventh seed Lamar, 3-2.
UTSA is 21-11 all-time against the Lumberjacks, which includes taking two of three in a road series from April 8-10. The Roadrunners, who have won three of the last four meetings between the two programs, topped the Lumberjacks, 4-2, in the only postseason meeting between the two clubs on May 23, 2007.
