SAN ANTONIO —After snapping a five-game losing streak on Sunday, UTSA will travel to Houston on Tuesday for its final midweek contest of the season. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Cougar Field.
The Roadrunners (23-29) picked up a 12-3 win at McNeese State on Sunday in Lake Charles, La., to salvage the final game of the weekend series. Redshirt freshman RJ Perucki posted career highs with four hits and three RBIs, while freshman left-hander Michael Kraft picked up his second win of the season by limiting the Cowboys to two hits over six innings of work.
Freshman Riley Good continues to lead the UTSA offense with a .336 batting average. Senior Ryan Hutson is batting at a .331 clip with five home runs and sophomore Ryan Dalton owns a team-leading nine round-trippers and 45 RBIs.
Junior right-hander Jordan Langley will get the start on the mound on Tuesday. The Sealy native is 4-4 with a 6.59 ERA in 12 appearances (11 starts) and he has notched 28 strikeouts and walked 18 batters in 56 innings this season.
Houston (24-27) also snapped a losing streak last weekend. The Cougars ended a four-game skid after taking two of three from 12th-ranked Southern Mississippi. Caleb Ramsey leads the club with a .321 batting average, 16 doubles, three triples and 43 RBIs. UH has not announced a starting pitcher.
The two clubs are meeting for the 26th time, including the second matchup this year. Houston owns a 16-9 advantage, but UTSA held on for a 7-6 triumph on March 1 at Wolff Stadium. The Roadrunners have won three straight at Cougar Field.
