UTSA to host ninth-ranked Texas A&M Tuesday night at Wolff Stadium

SAN ANTONIO — Coming off its fifth consecutive Southland Conference series win of the season, UTSA will host No. 9 Texas A&M at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Wolff Stadium.

The Roadrunners (21-24) took the final two games last weekend at Nicholls to clinch the series. Sunday's rubber match saw UTSA score four unearned runs in the third inning to take control. Junior Matthew James and sophomore Ryan Dalton each were 5-for-11 (.455) to lead the Birds during the three-game set.

Freshman Riley Good continues to lead UTSA offensively. The Godley native is batting .369 with 15 doubles and his 72 hits rank first nationally among freshmen. Good also leads the club with 15 stolen bases and stands second in runs scored (36), RBIs (30) and on-base percentage (.398).

Freshman southpaw Michael Kraft (1-3, 5.65 ERA) will make his second consecutive midweek start and sixth overall. He lasted four innings against Baylor last week, giving up two runs on three hits while walking five and striking out a pair.

Texas A&M enters the non-conference affair with a 30-14 overall record, which includes a 9-6 mark on the road. The Aggies have lost four of their last five contests, including two fo three at Missouri last weekend.

A&M is led by Tyler Naquin, who is hitting .408 with 14 doubles, six triples, a pair of homers and 29 RBIs.

Right-hander Derrick Hadley will make the first start of his career for the Aggies. Hadley has no record and a 2.61 ERA in eight relief appearances this season. He also has struck out eight batters and issued five free passes in 10.1 innings of work this spring.

Tuesday's contest marks the 28th meeting between the two schools. The Aggies hold a 19-8 advantage and have won five straight against the Roadrunners. UTSA's last victory against Texas A&M came five years ago (March 12, 2006).
